A medical doctor with over 20 years of clinical experience, specialising in evidence-based lifestyle medicine — addressing root causes through nutrition, gut health, behaviour change, supplementation, and personalised therapeutic programmes.
Beginning my career within Malaysia's public health system, I completed housemanship rotations across Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, and O&G, then continued as a Medical Officer at Hospital Kuala Lumpur — one of the country's leading tertiary referral centres. During this time I also contributed briefly to a Ministry of Health clinical team focused on evidence review and healthcare standards, which sharpened my grounding in evidence-based practice.
I subsequently achieved ECFMG certification in the United States, broadening my perspective on international healthcare delivery. Since 2013, I have run an independent lifestyle medicine practice in Kuala Lumpur — and in 2025, became a Diplomate of the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (IBLM), one of the highest international certifications in this field.
My approach is straightforward: understand why you're not well, then build a sustainable, science-grounded plan to change it — adapted to your life, your culture, and your goals.

WHAT I WORK WITH
The six pillars of lifestyle medicine
Every consultation draws on evidence across these interconnected areas:
Nutrition
Whole-food, evidence-based dietary guidance personalised to your health goals.
Movement
Practical, sustainable physical activity for all fitness levels.
Sleep
Sleep quality assessment and behavioural strategies for restorative rest.
Stress Resilience
Mind-body tools and evidence-based stress management techniques.
Risk Reduction
Identifying and reducing lifestyle-driven disease risk factors.
Social Connection
The role of community and relationships in long-term health.
SUPPLEMENTATION
Why I recommend supplements
Modern food systems — depleted soils, pesticide exposure, over-farming, and heavily processed supply chains — mean that diet alone is often insufficient to meet optimal nutritional needs. This is not opinion; it is a documented shift in food nutritional density over the past 50 years.
As part of my clinical programmes, I recommend targeted, evidence-based supplementation to augment — not replace — dietary and lifestyle interventions. I work with pharmaceutical-grade and clinically validated products, and I have no interest in recommending anything I don't believe in clinically.
Areas of supplementation I work with:
Gut Microbiome Support
Pre & probiotics for digestive balance and immune function.
"Dr. Emira combines genuine warmth with real medical knowledge in a way I haven't encountered before. She drew me in immediately — and since starting her programme, she has been an outstanding guide and mentor throughout my healing journey. The combination of the gut protein supplement, pre and probiotics, structured exercise, and calorie guidance has made a real difference."
Rubina Gut reset programme · nutrition & supplementation
"I had been struggling with chronic oral candida that had stopped responding to antifungal treatment. As a pharmacist, I know enough to be sceptical — but I followed Dr. Emira's clinical guidance on a targeted prebiotic protocol. Within the first week I noticed a difference, and by the second week I was waking up without pain for the first time in a long time. My digestion improved too. The results speak for themselves."
Maali Pharmacist · prebiotic gut health protocol
"I feel genuinely better and healthier — this programme was absolutely worth it. Dr. Emira's knowledge, encouragement, and the targeted supplement support made all the difference. I'm already seeing results and looking forward to reporting back at the end of the month."

COMMON QUESTIONS
FAQ
Is this a replacement for my regular doctor?
No. Lifestyle medicine consultations complement your existing medical care — they don't replace it. I work alongside your primary care team, not instead of them.
What should I bring to the consultation?
Recent blood results if you have them, a brief health history, and your main health concerns. You'll complete an intake form before the session so we make the most of our time together.
Will you recommend supplements in every consultation?
Only where clinically appropriate. Supplementation is one tool in the programme — I'll be transparent about what I recommend, why, and what the evidence says.
Are consultations available internationally?
Yes — all consultations are conducted via Google Meet and are open to patients worldwide.
How do I pay?
Payment is processed securely via Stripe at the time of booking. You'll receive a confirmation with your intake form link and Google Meet details automatically.
